毛泽东思想 Máo Zédōnɡ Sīxiǎnɡ noun Mao Zedong Thought 毛泽东思想Maoism, also known as Mao Zedong Thought. An ideology, developed in the 1920s and ’30s, and adopted by the Chinese constitution in 1975, that unites Marxist-Leninist theory and the ideas and teachings of Mao Zedong. Although the main architect of Maoism was Mao Zedong himself, it also embodies the collective wisdom of other Chinese Communist leaders including Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, etc. Maoism stresses the ideological transformation of the masses, and emphasizes the role of agriculture and that played by the rural population in building socialism. |
